Over the past few days Google has gotten the spot light because its threatening to lift the censorship filtering from its search engine on china. Many don't realize what this really means. If you are not a web developer you probably don't understand the impact this could make on business. In my opinion World War III will be a cyber war, and this small incident could be the start of tensions.

On my websites I have them setup to email me anytime a server error happens. If you ever get an error like "Invalid character in a Base-64 string", This is likely a hacker attack. In my case it was on the members login on my client's website. I logged in and shut down the site. 10 minutes later I started it back up and the hacker had left. Interesting is what the HTTP RAW data reveled.

Never seen these values before. According to the logs the IPs were from hundreds of compromised systems. However they all had these values in common. I am going to add a rule to detect the Class A IP in the 80.x.x.x block in the HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR, and block. Hopefully this helps some other people out

The new year is just around the corner, and this means many people will go out get drunk, then in the peak of being drunk declare, " I am going to get in shape". Well that is easier said than done, but of course every year millions flood the gyms just to fail at their goal, and to padd the pockets of 24 hour fitness. If you are like me you spend the majority of your day sitting at a computer, drinking coffee or caffeinated beverages. The only exercise you get is your fingers typing, or moving / clicking your mouse. Here are some pointers for anyone, who wants to get in shape.

I was skeptical this would work, but so far it seems to have worked. For anyone who is having problems with low bars or dropped calls with their Sony Xperia X1, X1a or X1i, this mod might help improve your signal quality. I have included instructions.

Today I went through getting one of my new clients setup on the Feedback Loop with the major ISPs. Most of the them came back saying I was approved to their feedback loop system, but one of them said I was not approved because I was found on an blacklist. This is not something you want to see. Allow me to explain.

Tonight comcast had a major outage here in Pearland Texas. The outage started around 7PM Friday Dec 5th 2009, and of this posting ( 12:19 AM Dec 6th Saturday ) Service was still not restored. Granted today we had snow, which is rare in Houston ( happends only once a year if at all ). But still Snow shouldn't affect Comcast Service. So I figured out how to tether my computer onto my Sony Xperia X1i and use my unlimited AT&T data connection to get online and keep working. However I was very surprized with the speed I got from AT&T.

With the Success of Rebels Honky Tonk in Houston it was only a matter of time before more were built. Austin will be home to the second Rebels Honky Tonk. I have been commissioned to built the website for the new bar. We will see what I can put together in 48 hours, as their grand opening is Saturday, November 21st, 2009
