The real cause for the Chicago Cubs bankuptcy

Paul WhiteRecently on MSN, there was an article about how the Chicago Cubs have
gone bankrupt in order to pay back depts by the Tribune. It was
interesting to see the reasons the author listed as the cause. However
I think there is lot more to this than most people want to believe.
Technology has changed the Consumer
Now explain to me why I should goto a game paying strip club prices for drinks, and $30 for a nose bleed seat. Plus having to pay for parking, and lost time due to traffic? Lots of Americans are singing the same tune. Why should I go to a game when I have my new 60" HDTV at home, plus cheap beer?
I remember growing up seeing kids outside playing. Now I am a home owner myself and the streets are empty. Any household that has a WEE, or
PS3, has all the
entertainment they need inside. This is the main reason for the closing of your classic video arcades, and amusement parks. Kids have no reason to leave the house. Not when you have a subscription to Xbox live.
As our society transforms into a online community, things will change. I remember back in the mid - late 90s. You were thought as lame if you were trying to pick up chicks on AOL. But now online dating is more acceptable, and has grown into a 9 figure online industry.
