If you have a smart phone they you likely also have an microSDHC card for storage of your photos, videos, and Apps. However all microSDHC cards are not created equal. In this blog I will run some benchmarks on a few cards I had laying around. I will test a Sandisk 16GB class 2 microSDHC, a Samsung 8GB class 6 microSDHC, and a Lexar 32GB class 10 microSDHC memory card. Hopefully people can use this data to help them make informed decisions on what card they want to buy.

One of my clients recently called me, and asked me how do I get rid of this K9 internet protection? Turns out his laptop was busted, so he took his kids laptop with him. But he forgot that K9 limits what websites he can visit, and even worse he forgot his password for K9. So I remoted into his system and hacked the system to stop K9. I figured others might be in the same situation so I will share how I did it.

My Current Cell Phone is an HTC HD2 that I ported to Android 2.3. There hasn't been much reason to upgrade, as most phones had the same screen size, or the same resolution. Finally the HTC Sensation has arrived. In my opinion its the logical upgrade from my HD2. Same 4.3" LCD, higher Resolution, and 8 MP camera with 1080P video recording, along with 1.2 Ghz Dual Core snap dragon CPU.

If your websites are going down, due to your application pool failing, or being automatically shut down after a few application errors, then you have a major problem on your hands. In my case the symptom was A process serving the application pool suffered a fatal communication error with the Windows Process Activation Service, in my system logs. If you have each website running in its own application pool then you know which website is going down, but the errors being displayed give you no hints as to the cause. I recently had a website that was randomly going down. Sometimes it would go down every few days, and other times it would only crash once a month. So I finally did some digging for the cause, and found it. If you don't know where to start in debugging your crashed application pools, this might help.

For those of you who are setting up your own Asterisk based dialer using one of the many variants such as Vicidial, Vicibox, Vicidialnow, or GoAutoDial, you might have found that one of the most painful parts of setting it up is knowing what settings will make it work. Specifically what ports do you forward from your router, and what special settings do you need to set in your sip.conf file. After trial and error I have discovered the settings that work.

After being with T-Mobile for a little over a year, I almost had the last straw with poor 3G connectivity. That was until I figured out there are two types of Sim Cards. 2G Sim Cards and 3G Sim Cards. If you have been having dropped calls and poor 3G data coverage, you need to visit a T-Mobile store and they will gladly exchange out your 2G Sim card for a 3G Sim card, and its free too! I know what you are thinking? How can I tell which sim card I have? Read this article for the details.
