Do Mail Servers penalize for not including Plain Text Email Content

This was a question I asked myself recently.  Its hard to believe that there are still people out there that don't accept HTML formatted emails.  But do mail servers from major providers punish emails that don't provide some old school plain text formatting for the 5 people in the world who are still get their email via compuserve?  So I will be experimenting to find out.

Using PING times to pick your hosting provider

Acronoc Ping timesRecently I moved a few of my clients to Godaddy.  Even though I hear lots of bad things about godaddy, my websites are running faster than they had been running on HostMySite.  Turns out that this speed increase might have more to do with PING times than the hardware they were hosted on.

How to get godaddy to work with custom 404 on multiple asp.net websites

If you have found this blog post, the chances are you have already searched the web for hours trying to figure this out.  Running a single website on godaddy is not a problem.  but once you start running multiple asp.net websites on your godaddy hosting account, and they all use custom 404 handling as part of URL rewriting you will run into problems. How to check website for broken links

Broken links are never a good thing.  In fact some search engines will penalize you for them.  Instead of browsing every page on your website looking for broken links.  A developer made a nice will tool that does it for you.  Works Awesome!  Try it out

NoFollow SEO arms race

I have become very disturbed recently in seeing that many sites, especially big ones are voiding any kind of SEO value to external links. They add rel="nofollow" to every comment link and even their own content, to ensure that they hog all the page rank for themselves.  However I think google may have something up their sleeves.
