IWB generic Crossbreed Supertuck Holster Review
Posted on Feb 20, 2013 by
Paul WhiteAs some of you may know, several months ago I got my CHL ( Concealed Handgun License ). But rather than try to conceal my
glock 17 in my pocket or small of the back, I have done my research and bought what I feel is the best IWB ( Inside the Waist Band ) Holster I could find. Hopefully this review will help others who are also looking to buy a holster to conceal.
Why an IWB Holster
Inside the Waste band Holsters provide a secure way to store your firearm, while concealing it from public view. Unfortunately not all IWB Holsters are created Equal. If you search around the web and read the opinions of others, you will eventually come to the concensus that SuperTuck Style IWB Hosters are the best.
Stay away from those cheap Holsters like Uncle Mikes. I bought one of those only to come home and realize I didn't want a brick shoved down my pants. Most of the Holsters you get from Sporting Goods Stores will have holsters that either don't keep the gun secure, or don't let go of the gun. Both of which leave you with a future of embarassing, and potentially unsafe moments.
Unfortunately the SuperTuck Holsters also tend to be expensive. They are made by hand, and are custom fitted to your specific model of gun. But with the high demand for gun accessories, you might have to wait a few months to get your order fullfilled.
Generic SuperTuck Crossbreed IWB Holsters on Ebay
So instead of waiting 6 - 8 weeks for the real thing, I went on ebay, and found a seller who decided to start up their own
business making IWB Holsters. They look and feel very similar to the real thing. They are made from high qualty materials, Adjustable Steel Clips, Cow hide leather backing, and of course the custom molded Kydex Pistol Cup

I was able to buy mine for $34.99 with Free shipping from Ebay user: everydayholsters. It was custom made to fit a
glock 17, but they also make holsters to fit just about any handgun you might own.
Why SuperTuck Style Holsters?
One of the biggest problems with regular IWB holsters is they assume you wear pants with a belt. Considering how hot it gets in Texas Pants is not a big part of my wardrobe. I pretty much live in Gym Shorts and T-Shirts. So I needed a Holster that I could easily conceal with Gym Shorts. In the pictures below are some photos from various agles of me modeling my holster. It does a pretty good job hiding my
Glock 17, though it does make me want to buy a smaller gun.

Final Thoughts
I am very happy with this holster, its comfortable, and breathes well. Plus the leather matches my pastey white skin. ( Yeah I need to get some sun ). Even though it would stay more secure with pants and a belt, it still is very secure with Gym Shorts and Pants. I can pull out my gun with no problem yet when its holstered it stays snug and doesn't fall out. Highly recommend it to anyone else looking for a good Holster for concealment.
