Reign Lounge Houston Nighclub Review

Paul WhiteWashington Avenue is the new hot spot for Houston's Nightlife. Over the weekend I visited Reign Lounge where my client was promoting an event. Over all the place is great. But like any club it has its weak spots. Just to be clear my client was promoting an event on the second floor indoor / outdoor patio, so the majority of my review will focus on this part of the club.
Reign Lounge Pros
- New Building
- Excellent contemporary Decor
- Bar Service upstairs is speedy
- Excellent Mood lighting
- Awesome Views of the Washington Avenue Strip
- Very Comfortable Patio Seating
- Upstairs has a dedicated Guys and Girls Restroom
Reign Lounge Cons
- Air Conditioning Upstairs is a little weak
- Outdoor Patio not very enjoyable with Houston's humidity and heat
- With the Exception of a dozen or so Valet Spot there is no Parking
- No Free Parking, unless you park on back streets and walk a couple blocks to the venue.
- Drink Prices High but average for the area
The Situation at Reign lounge
The night was Saturday August 28, 2010. My Client was promoting his event on the upstairs indoor / outdoor patio to his crowd of late 20's to late 30's. Down Stairs 3 other promoters were promoting a separate event to the typical 20 something consumer ( single, sexy, and looking to get laid ) The downstairs was packed, and as a result it took about 20 minutes to get from the front door to the second floor, as it was packed shoulder to shoulder. I suspect if the fire marshal showed up they would have been over capacity.
Reign Lounge Decor
Excellent Contemporary Decor. Everything about this place screamed class. The outside patio had comfortable lounge seating. The outdoor patio has one of the best views of the Washington Avenue Strip. Reminded me of Atlanta's Buckhead on a Saturday Night. From above you could see thousands of people walking to and from different bars. Exotic
cars cruising by. Girls in Stilettos walking by and waiting in line. There was definitely an energy in the air. Great people watching atmosphere.
Reign Lounge Crowd
The crowd was well dressed. Everyone was in fashionable attire. The demographics were well balanced for Houston.

On the right is the closest thing you will ever see to a living Barbi Doll,
Houston Model Caitlin Hixx. You you should see her from the front! On the left is a guy suffering from Severe Back Sweat. It was probably 85 degrees outside with 100% humidity.
Summary
If you want a nice place to go with excellent decor, then Reign Lounge is your place. However the outdoor patio might be more enjoyable in October rather than August.
