O&O Defrag 10 Professional will make your computer faster

I recently did a little cleaning of my workstation.  Typical stuff like deleting old files, data backups, and of course defrag.  Afterwards however my computer just didn't seem as fast as usual.  I was using the built in Windows XP defrag program.  Which is ok, but unless your system is heavily defraged you really won't notice a difference in performace.  I had used another after market program before, but I wanted to see if I could find something even better. I heard about O&O Defrag.  So I gave it a try and wow what a difference!

If you want to take my word for it and give it a try they have a trial version you can download off their website
http://www.oo-software.com/home/en/download/current/oodefragpro/

They also have a version that is specifically designed for Windows Server 2003.  I installed this on my VPS box and ran it to help speed things up on my client's websites.

Keep in mind that I ran this program right after running the windows XP defrag.  It was pretty sad what the native Windows XP defrag does not do.  Here is a screen shot of O&O defrag cleaning my system using the Complete / Name Defrag method.

This method is the most intense, and takes the longest.  If you don't have hours to spare use the Space Defrag.  This is much quicker and does a good job, but just not as good as the Complete / Name. After it was done I immediately noticed a difference.  When opening programs like Outlook or thunderbird you will notice a much quicker response.  All those thousands of emails can slow your system down alot when they get fragmented.  Below is a screen shot of the end result.

The software is free to try for 30 days and has no functionality left out for the trial version.  My only gripe about this program is it has a service that will run in the background to keep things defragmented.  I would prefer a defrag program that is run on demand only, leaving my system resources free for other things.
